There & Back Again. It was a wonderfully exhausting summer.

Reflecting over the past several months, it is hard to believe the Lord allowed us to cram so many incredible moments into such a brief span of time.  Starting with the birth of our precious Leia on May 1st and Dylan’s graduation from Faith Academy (awarded Most-Outstanding Senior Boy by the Faculty – proud papa insert) a few short weeks later, this new season of life has left our family forever changed.  The fleeting weeks of Dylan’s last summer at home (before college) passed way too quickly and on July 1st, he and I said goodbye to the family, US-bound for the first time in three years, as we traveled to reunite with SO, SO MANY friends and ultimately drop Dylan off at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX.  Along the way we kept a dizzying schedule (thank you Lord for sustaining us) as we raced against the clock to squeeze in time with as many of you as we could and to do our very best to represent the beautiful people the Lord has called us to serve in the Philippines

  • 28,796 miles traveled
  • 7 speaking engagements in churches spanning coast to coast.
  • 20 different sit down appointments presenting the ministry

Personal highlights that I will forever cherish include time with so many of my role-models and mentors from over the years, precious moments with my mom, & dad in NC, along with a few final weeks alone with Dylan before leaving him at school.  God was so good, kind and gracious to allow me all these things.  I needed them way more than I realized and the blessings still bring tears as I try to express my gratitude to Him and to each of you.

Support our Work

Emerge has set up a brand new donation page just for our family.  If you click the button above to make your donation online, there is no longer a need to designate your gift.  It will automatically come direct to us.

(If you choose to use the old donation page or give by check please continue to designate for Mike & Kim Medlin and family).

This summer 40% of our ongoing budget was met.

Kim and I want to say thank you so much for being with us these past 3 years.  Our commitment to the call has never been stronger and the Lord has so much work ahead for us.  God has given us a burning love and passion for the Philippines and the wonderful young people He has called us to minister to.
